"You killed my brother! How could you!" Ivan smirks darkly at you as you screamed at him.

That was the last straw. You got up from your dead brother's body and pulled the knife out of the hidden sheath under your shirt. Glaring at him, you started to lunge.

Right as you went forward you felt a hand grab your arm, "Let go of my arm, Ludwig."

"I cannot do that, [Name]," You hear the serious sounding tone behind you, but you don't turn around. Instead you try to pull your arm out of his grip.

Twisting your arm up and in a quick circular motion you shake off his grip momentary, but before you can take another step toward the chuckling Russian you feel his arms wrap around you, trapping your own arms against your body.

"Let go of me!" You start moving your legs up and back but he side steps and evades all of your kicks.

"Calm down, Fraulein!" He almost shouts in your ear.

"No! I can't! He killed my brother! I need to avenge him!" You look into Ivan's dark, amused face and make another attempt at rushing forward, but Lugwigs hold on you is too strong.

"Let go of me!" You scream while trying to twist out of his hold.

"Hold...Still!" Ludwig presses his knee into the back of your leg making you bend your legs and lose your balance. You almost fall forward but Lugwig holds you up.

You hear a light but dark chuckle and you snap your head up to look at the insane Russian.

"This is fun, da? Seeing your grief brings me joy. It makes me wonder which one of your friends I should kill next..." Ivan kols darkly before smiling and waving, "I will see you soon, da?"

Before you can retort he runs off. You once again try in vain to go after him but Ludwig tightens his hold on you.

With no one else around you start yelling at the German, "Bastard! I could have gotten him! I could have made him s-suffer what my b-brother did!" You start stuttering as your eyesight becomes watery, "He killed my brother!You let him go and he killed my brother!" Your voice cracks on the last word and you let tears fall.

After a few seconds you feel Ludwig loosen his grasp and take your knife out of your hand, before turning you around and hugging you to his chest.

"Hush now, [Name]," He whispers while stroking your hair.

You turn your head slightly to look at your brother. You see the blood staining the snow surrounding his lifeless body and you feel a rush of sadness. You quickly bury your face in Ludwigs chest as you sob harder.

Ludwig gently lowers himself and you to the ground and continues to embrace you.

You stay like that for a long while until you calm down a bit. Then you feel Ludwig poke your shoulder, "We have to get back home, [Name]."

"No..." You know you sounded like a spoiled child but you didn't care.

You heard him sigh and move you off him. He leaned over and grabbed your knife, and held it out to you. You took it shakily and put it in your sheath. Then in one swift movement he picked you up bridal style and started walking.

"We can't leave him here!" you looked up at Ludwig in a panic but he didn't look down at you.

"When we get back a few others and myself will come back for him."

"...Oh.." You had nothing else to say. Then you realized how damsel-in-distress you looked being carried like this.

"I-I can walk!" You started to protest, but his sharp glare cut you off.

"Nein. You know you're lying."

You blush and duck your head.

"Just rest. You need sleep," Ludwig said gently to you.

"I do not need sleep!" You start to protest but his glare stops you from saying anything further.

Seeing no other option you sigh and timidly rest your head against his chest. You realize just how sleepy you actually are as you listen to his heartbeat and start feeling darkness wrap around your consciousness.
